At first an agricultural location, Särö grew to become most popular through the finish in the 19th century when the middle course of nearby Gothenburg started to utilize the peninsula to be a summer time resort. A railway from central Gothenburg was designed, along with the kings Oscar II and Gustav V frequented the realm during the summer time.b
